What can I rely on in the dark, in moments of uncertainty and change? This semi‑abstract landscape—created with alcohol inks on an aluminium cradle panel—helped me find the answer.
Alcohol inks can’t be fully controlled. I started without a plan, only a question and the urge to explore. Colours were layered, shifted, pushed around the surface by air and gravity. I followed the instinct, adding pigments and experimenting with mediums, letting the piece evolve into what it wanted to be.
The image revealed itself when I noticed a small blob of masking fluid that had been there the whole time. Removing it connected everything, and I could exhale.
This work is an expression of trust—trust in the process, in adaptation, and in working with the unpredictable nature of the life.
